Position Summary:
1. Directs and generates business opportunities within a given market to accomplish the goal of profitable growth. Overall responsibility for establishing, implementing and executing strategies for market development to achieve maximum potential of product acceptance and market growth with high earnings and revenue accountability.
2. Must project a positive image and motivate others to achieve sales goals.
3. Develops high level relationships at target accounts.
4. Develops and manage opportunity/ pipe line for the given market..
5. Report out the given market development progress and result to management
Scope/Supervision and Interaction:
May have or may not have direct reports. Works with a matrix organization made up of Division engineering, marketing personnel, country sales and distribution to provide a team approach and system solutions to end customers using all company components. Also works with Advertising, divisions and organizational boundaries. Across cultures, primarily US, Chinese and Australia
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and direct the sales activities within a given market.
2. Identify target accounts within the specified industry.
3. Control program performance to achieve business plan objectives.
4. Obtain market data for input into developing programs/products to maximize sales objectives.
5. Oversee all programs that promote, sell, and secure/extend new/existing business including important and major accounts.
6. Establish, implement, and execute strategies for market development to achieve maximum potential of product acceptance and market growth.
7. Monitor sales results and track trends within the specified industry.
8. Communicate recommendations of new products and price level required by the specified industry to relevant divisions.
9. Develops and maintains relationships with customers to gain knowledge of future market and customer needs and further develop business opportunities.
10. Communicate information of customer programs in specified industry and to ensure their awareness of the activity and company's existence on customer specifications.
11. Work with divisions in development of advertising and promotional pieces and programs for specified industry.
12. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing trade and technical publications, establishing professional networks, and/or participating in professional associations and attending industry trade shows and conferences.
13. Coordinate the efforts of Field Sales, Distribution, and Division personnel to attain specification for products on customer projects in specified industry.
14. Make major account presentations.
15. Accumulate and archive information relating to customer buying patterns within, product and commercial requirements of, and competitive activity in the specified industry.
16. Build and maintain an archive of circuits, case studies, and application stories relating and productivity continuously. Other duties as assigned |
